Welcome to DE & BOSE, a trusted name in the field of Chartered Accountancy, founded in 1956 in Kolkata. With decades of experience, we have consistently delivered a wide range of services in Finance and Accounts. Our expertise spans from traditional Audit & Assurance services - such as Statutory Audits, Tax Audits, VAT/GST Audits, and Internal Audits - for corporate entities, PSUs, banks, insurance companies, and partnership firms. We also specialize in consulting services in Direct and Indirect Taxation, Fixed Assets Register and Inventory Register preparation, share valuation, and other certification works.
The firm was founded on September 1, 1956, by three distinguished Chartered Accountants: Sri Amulyadhan De, Sri Kashinath Bose, and Sri Durgadas De. The senior-most among the founders, Sri Amulyadhan De, had an illustrious career as a GDA in British India and as the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for the Kolkata circle. After retirement, he sought to channel his vast expertise into audit and tax consultancy, partnering with Sri Kashinath Bose, a knowledgeable and like-minded professional. They were later joined by Sri Durgadas De, a dynamic Chartered Accountant with experience from Lovelock Lewis, bringing youthful energy to the firm.
Over the years, DE & BOSE has navigated numerous challenges, growing and evolving under the leadership of several respected partners. Our firm has achieved significant milestones and continues to thrive, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the financial sector.
In response to growing demand and an expanding client base, we established a branch in Mumbai in 2000, marking our expansion into the western region of India. Additionally, a new office in Kolkata was opened to better serve our clients.

Planning
- Initiated by the one or more partners, as it requires.
- Interaction with the client to understand their need.
- Check on the background and past financials of the client.
- Careful study of the operation and system of the client.
- Identify the critical areas and rank them.
- Identify the area that requires statutory compliance.
- Assign adequate workforce to check on the critical areas/statutory compliances so identified.
Execution
- Executed by the audit team consists of hard-working audit staffs, headed by the experienced Qualified Assistants/Sr. Audit Staffs.
- Adhered to the audit plan and evolve, if necessary.
- Determine sample size and sample data.
- Check the input areas and examine the output data with "parallel testing" method
- Check for statutory compliances.
- Share primary findings/shortcomings with the partner responsible.
Conclusion
- Partner(s) has discussion with the audit team in detail on the findings/shortcomings.
- Partner(s) and head of audit team have discussion with the client and rectify the shortcomings wherever possible.
- Partner(s) narrows down the stressed area and submit Draft Report elaborating the risk and suggested solution.
- Partner(s) has exit meeting with the client with the draft report.
- Submission of final report.
Notable Achievements
- Our firm is empanelled with CAG, RBI and LIC as a Tier-I firm.
- It is a rare privilege for our firm to have worked as the Concurrent Auditor with all the nationalised banks in India. And no. of concurrent audit at a time has not gone below 5 in last 10 years.
- The Firm is also an empanelled audit firm with Royal Audit Authority, Bhutan. The firm has performed a number of audit assignments in the country of Bhutan.
- Partner(s) has exit meeting with the client with the draft report.
- The firm had held office of the statutory auditor of the biggest CAG empanelled company and RBI empanelled bank in eastern India at the same time during 2015 to 2018.
